Donna May

Director at Large

Donna has been a City of Phoenix employee for over 23 years, and has proudly served on the ASPTEA Board of Directors since 2015. She was part of the team that represented Unit 7 employees in the last three contract negotiations that restored concessions and added raises, bonuses and deferred comp increases. Donna participates in the Labor Management Committee where ASPTEA meets with City Department heads to address policy issues that affect our members. She has attended oral arguments before both Superior Court and the Arizona Supreme Court for both the Sick Leave Snapshot and Vacation Snapshot lawsuits. Additionally, Donna currently monitors the status of Federal, State, and City decisions that affect Unit 7 employees. Donna has been active in ASPTEA for almost 20 years and is passionate about our employee rights.

Donna chaired the citywide CSFD campaign in 2006 where employees raised $1.46 million for United Way and other human service organizations. She has 20+ years City experience, having worked in the Aviation Department as an Administrative Assistant I in the Design and Construction Services Division, Project Controls Section. Also, Donna worked in the City Clerk, Human Services and Municipal Court departments. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, Public Administration Concentration and a Bachelor of Science (BSM) in Management degree from the University of Phoenix. Donna has also earned the designation of CPM (Certified Public Manager) through Arizona State University and a certificate in Human Resource Management from University of Phoenix. She is also a member of COPMEA.
